This was a satisfying watch.
While I do think it overall lacks a little of the predecessor's character developement, I do think it managed to pick itself up as the movie progressed. The beginning of the movie seemed like a cliched and predictable plot of finding something important to fix something.
BUT, like I said, the movie makes up for it as it progresses, because when Ralph and Venellope break through to the internet it really gets interesting. We get an amazing interpretation of the internet with everything from internet culture, personifications of well known web-sites, viruses and search engines of many kinds.

Trivia
The film is Jodi Benson's first film appearance in a Walt Disney Animation Studios film, following her iconic performance as Ariel in The Little Mermaid (1989), twenty-nine years earlier, as well as in its direct-to-video sequel and prequel. Benson also provided the voice of Barbie in Toy Story 2 (1999) and Toy Story 3 (2010), both produced by Pixar Animation Studios. She even made a cameo appearance in the Disney live-action/animated film Enchanted (2007), a film that is both an homage to, and a self-parody of, the Disney animated feature films. (The Little Mermaid (1989) is one of the films referenced.)
